Saint Louis Vacation

Wednesday at 2am we FINALLY made it home after a long three week vacation in Saint Louis. I mean I did enjoy my time there but there is nothing like home. The first week there I had a really hard time, it was getting to be closer to Christmas and I was out of my element and not doing activities and traditions that I am so use to. I love Wain's family tons but I was really missing my family. I probably called my mom every day we were there, because I was missing out on what my family does and I wanted to be there. Wain's family has NO traditions. They said they use to but because Wain's mom is so use to having Christmas by herself that she stopped doing them. Kinda sad. I tried my hardest to make the best of Christmas and I think I did a pretty good job. I'm thankful for the thoughtful gifts that were given to me, such as a Brazil sweatshirt, $50 gift card to Olive garden, a gift card to get a pedicure(which was WONDERFUL) Britney Spears perfume(from my hubby) some boots I have wanted for some time (thanks Sean & Sarah) and lots of candy and some card games. We had Christmas dinner at Wain's uncles house, and played game. His family loves to play board games so we did that A LOT. Which was TONS of fun.
The best present I got was a wake up call at 8am from my little brother Kolton. We talked for about 10 minutes then he called back later when I was more awake and when he could talk to Wain as well. He is doing so good. He has a Canadian companion so he is TRYING to pick up on his accent. He is the only one that can drive because his comp got into a car accident. He is in down town Cincinnati and he loves it. He says that he has befriended the people in the getto and that they call them the Jesus people. They live 15 minutes from the mission president so they get to see him a lot and they had Christmas dinner with them. We just got to figure out how we are related to him because he is a Sorensen from Salt Lake.
well enjoy the pics I will blog later about New Years Eve

I can't remember the exact day but we were woken up by a loud noise warning us of a tornado. I was SCARED. So Wain and I woke up everyone cause we were the only ones that heard it. His mom had worked the night before so it didn't even faze her and she just keep on sleeping :) The clouds were so dark then it started to rain and thunder it was AWESOME but scary. The tornado touched down and killed 4 people. Luckily we were not affected by it. But it is something I will always remember.

I was helping Wain's sister make Sunday dinner and I was not paying attention and I cut my finger REALLY bad. blood got everywhere. But there was NO way I was going to the ER. Thank goodness Wain's mom is a nurse and we wrapped it up pretty tight and left it that way for a few hours to see if the bleeding would stop. Checked it a few hours later and it was still bleeding. Wain's mom said I needed to get stitched but I was being stubborn and said NO WAY. Wain gave me a blessing and not even an hour later the bleeding had stopped. It has healed really well. I will just have a nice scar on the top of my finger for the rest of my life. But hey it's better than having to pay a ER visit.
